The Job

What will you do as a Security Architect at the Ministry of Defence?

As a Security Architect, you will make an important contribution to the design of secure IT and security solutions within the Frontier IT Program (GrIT) of the Ministry of Defence. To do this, you evaluate existing security requirements and identify potential gaps. Based on your research into the latest trends and opportunities within the domains of security, cloud and IoT, you propose improvements that fit the strategy and requirements of the ministry. In this way, you ensure that the robust Defence system is and remains secure.

It goes without saying that in your role you interact with multiple stakeholders, often in senior positions. Whether they have a technical background or not, you can efficiently explain the security risks to all of them and convince them of the solutions you propose. Your communication skills are therefore above average. You will also help with the development and implementation of security and compliance regulations, such as GDPR, PSD2 and Cybersecurity guidelines.

Where will you be working?

As your new home base, you can choose from one of the following locations: Soesterberg, Den Helder or Maasland. Partly working from home is a possibility.

Important to know: in order to work for the Ministry of Defence, you must be in possession of Dutch nationality and a Dutch passport. You must also be able to speak and write Dutch.

The Profile

What knowledge and experience do you bring to the table?

• At least 10 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 4 years as a Security Architect;
• Experience implementing security protocols to optimize overall IT security;
• Knowledge of and experience in identifying the most common vulnerabilities in IT security;
• Je bent Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), of Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (CISSP-ISSAP);
• Recognized industry associations such as ISC2, ISACA, GIAC, EC-Council, CompTIA, ITIL or Comptia Security+ have certified you;
• We see knowledge of AWS or Azure Cloud architecture as an advantage.
